How much do you charge?
We charge by the job and not by the hour. We don’t give estimates
we give firm quotes for everything we do. We have some people who
work at the company who are faster than others. With that in mind,
we decided our price should be the same for everyone, regardless
of who does the work. All our work is done in accordance with national,
state and local building codes and is performed to the highest possible
standards. Once the parameters of the job are outlined and a price
is given, that is the price, it will not go up.
Every job we do is listed in our price book. Our clients are shown
the book prior to starting the job. The price is the same for everyone.
It doesn’t matter what neighborhood you live in, your age, or your
income level, it’s set and it’s listed in the book.
How do you calculate your prices?
We do thousands of jobs each year. Each job listed in the price book
has a history behind it. We have time and material statistics for
every job that we have done since 1961. To compute a job rate, we
take the average time and material for that job and use that data
in conjunction with all of our other costs of doing business to calculate
a final price using a pricing matrix. We review our prices each year
and adjust them if necessary.
Can you do the job in one visit?
In most cases, yes. The reason we can complete most jobs on the first
visit is our preparation. Our service vehicles are virtual mobile
warehouses. We stock all of the most commonly used parts on board.
It’s also equipped with almost every specialty tool a technician would
need. If we don’t have the part on board, we’ll do whatever we can
to find the item and get it out to your home asap.
Who will be coming out to my house?
When it’s time for your service, we’ll call to let you know who’s
on the way. We like to think it really doesn’t matter which of our
employees is assigned to your job because each of our technicians
is highly trained and capable, and is among the most qualified, neat,
clean, and professional people in the industry.
You can view the profile of each of our employees by
going here.
Do you charge to come out?
We do have a callout fee. This fee is a flat rate price that covers
our trip and diagnostic time, regardless of how long it takes to identify
your problem. Unlike other companies that charge by the hour (or more
frequently the quarter hour), we don’t feel you should have to pay
extra for a technician who may not be as fast as another. In any case,
on plumbing jobs, this fee is applied to the job rate when you elect to have us perform
your repair. Our service rep will quote you our current rate when
you schedule your call or you can find
it here when you schedule online.
How is payment to be made?
We take cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
All our work is done on a C.O.D. basis. We do not bill.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We can offer you a great finance program that features 12-month,
no-interest, “same-as-cash” if you qualify. Be sure to ask your Service
Technician about this great program.
When are you open for business?
Our regular hours are
Monday through Friday 7:30am to 8:00pm
Saturdays
from 8:00am to 6:00pm
Can you give me a price quote over the phone?
Unfortunately we can’t. Even the simplest job can require additional
work that we can’t possibly anticipate over the phone. There are far
too many variables that come into play including service access, condition
of associated parts and adherence to building codes. You see, even
if we didn’t perform the original work, we’re liable for any code
violations we come across once we work at your home. The only way
to give you an accurate price quote is to view your problem first
hand. We’d caution you to keep that in mind if you’ve gotten phone
quotes from other companies. It’s not uncommon for some unscrupulous
companies to quote a low price on the phone, and charge you more once
they’ve done the job.
How long will I have to wait for service? Do I have to stay at home
all day?
In most cases we can get to you within 24 hours. We typically can’t
tell you exactly what time we’ll arrive because we never know how
long the job before yours is going to take. You certainly don’t have
to wait around all day for us. We’ll be happy to call your cell or
work phone 30 minutes before coming to your home. That should allow
you to go about your normal day and return home only when we get there.
For your convenience, we do offer “Guaranteed First Calls” in the
mornings, when available. The actual time can vary from 7:30 to 9:30
but we’ll let you know your time in advance. Just request “First Call”
when you schedule your service.
Are you going to create a mess in my home?
Sometimes we must open up walls and ceilings to gain access to your
plumbing. Rest assured, we make every effort to insure we don’t damage
anything in your home or leave it dirty or dusty. We’ll clean up any
“mess” we make. If you’re not satisfied with the clean up we’ll pay
to have a professional house cleaner of your choice come in and clean
it further.
